Frequently Asked Questions
Cost
How much does it cost?
To join, you will pay a one-time initiation fee. Then, as a member, you will pay monthly plus a fee each time you use a vessel. Unlike gas-powered boat clubs, the use fee is flat regardless of how much time you spend on the water. Better yet, we will not ask you to purchase gas during or after your outing. Just show up, unplug, and go. See our Join page for current rates and special offers.
Do I have to pay the initiation fee every year?
No. The initiation fee is a one-time fee each member pays when joining the club. You only pay this fee once as long as you remain a member.
Is there a use charge?
Yes. We charge a fee each time you use a vessel. Unlike gas-powered boat clubs, the use fee is flat regardless of how much time you spend on the water. All you have to do is unplug the boat when you leave and plug it in upon returning. We process the use fee online when you make your reservation to simplify everything. See our Join page for current rates and special offers.
Do I have to sign an annual contact?
No. Pure Watercraft Club operates month-to-month, meaning you may cancel your membership anytime. However, you must repay the club's initiation fee (at that time) if you choose to rejoin.
Do you have share or corporate plans?
No. We do not have share or corporate plans. We sell each plan on a per-person basis.
Is insurance included with my membership?
Yes. Pure Watercraft Club maintains an insurance policy that covers you, your guests, and the boat when you are on the water. We include the cost of this policy with your membership. Members may be responsible for paying the deductible.
Membership
Membership
Who can join?
Membership is open to boaters of any skill level, 25 years of age and older. So whether you’ve never boated or boated for years, Pure Watercraft Club welcomes you as a member.
How do I join?
To become a member, you must set up an account, pay your initiation fee, and set up automatic payment for your monthly dues. Afterward, you must complete a hands-on training session with one of our staff and obtain and upload a photo of your state-issued Boater Education Card.
How do I know I can get a boat?
Pure Watercraft Club limits the number of members per boat to ensure all members have access to the water. In addition, during the summer months, we offer three boating sessions per day, seven days per week. The evening session allows our members to enjoy weekday and weekend sunset cruises and increases the chances that each member will find convenient times for boating.
How soon can I get on the water?
Upon joining the club, you must complete a hands-on training session with one of our staff and obtain and upload a photo of your state-issued Boater Education Card. These steps may take several days to complete, impacting the time before you can book your first outing.
Boats
Boats
What type of boats do you have?
We maintain a fleet of pontoon boats powered by Pure Watercraft's Electric Outboards. Most club vessels can carry up to eight passengers and are outfitted with Bluetooth compatible stereos, retractable Bimini sunshades, and safety gear.
Are the boats clean and well maintained?
Yes. We routinely clean and inspect each boat to ensure the best member experience possible.
Are the boats easy to operate?
Yes. Pontoon boats are easy to operate because they feature a comfortable, stable platform that maneuvers well at low speeds. Electric Outboards provide quiet, reliable propulsion, without the distractions of noise or fumes. Together, they provide an excellent, low-stress boating experience for members and guests.
Do you rent your boats to non-members?
No. Pure Watercraft Club owns and operates a private fleet for the exclusive use of our members.
Do I have to pay for gas?
No. The great thing about Electric Outboards is that they run on electricity, not gasoline. All you have to do is unplug the boat when you leave and plug it in upon returning.
Training
Training
Do you offer boat training classes?
Yes. Pure Watercraft Club is a proponent of boater education and safety. We specialize in helping members with no experience to become comfortable and confident boaters. Therefore, we provide free training to all members regarding our fleet's safe use and operation. Members must complete this training before they can start reserving boats.
Do I need a Boater Education Card?
Probably. To become a Pure Watercraft Club member, you must have a state-issued Boater Education Card. While there are several exemptions, the most applicable are:
1.) You were born before Jan. 1, 1955.
2.) You are an operator of a commercial fishing boat and can show a valid commercial license.
3.) You can show a valid U.S. Coast Guard Marine Operator License.
To get a card, you must complete an approved boater education course. After taking the boater education course, you must submit the Boater Education Card Application to the State Parks, along with a small fee and a copy of your proof of course completion.
Do you have dock staff?
No. The great thing about electric boats is that they do not need to be filled with gas after each session (the primary reason other boat clubs need on-site staff.) During your training session, we will show you how to connect and disconnect the power cord to the charger and how to depart, operate, and dock the boats. After that, you can reserve and access the boats on your own.
What safety equipment is included?
We outfit each boat with life jackets, fire extinguishers, signaling devices, navigation maps, instructions, and contact phone numbers for towing and emergencies.
What are my responsibilities?
Being a Pure Watercraft Club member is easy. We ask that you return the boat on time, plug in the charger, report any damage or maintenance issues, and clean up after yourself.
What if I have to cancel a reservation?
No problem. If you must cancel your reservation, we ask that you do so at least 24 hours before the reserved time so others have a chance to reserve. Another alternative is to reschedule your outing.

How do I reserve a boat?
Reserving a boat is easy. On our website, you log into the member's page and select a marina, date, time, and boat. The entire process takes less than a minute to complete.
How often can I go boating?
There is no limit; you can boat as often as you like. During the traditional boating season (May to September), we offer three boating sessions per day; morning (9 AM to 12 PM), afternoon (1 PM to 4 PM), and evening (5 PM to Sunset). During the off-season, when there is less sunlight, we offer two boating sessions per day; morning and afternoon.
How many reservations can I have at one time?
To ensure that all members have equal access to the boats, members may have a maximum of three reservations on the calendar at any time. After a member uses a reservation, a new one becomes available.
How many people can I bring?
You may bring as many guests as you wish, provided that you stay within the maximum legal capacity of the vessel. For most club vessels, the maximum capacity is eight passengers.
Who can I bring with me?
There are no restrictions on who you can bring on the boat with you so long as a named member is present.
Can I use a boat early or after hours?
No. We limit the times members can use club boats so we can inspect, recharge, and prepare the vessels for the next day's users.
Who can operate the boats?
We require a named member of the Pure Watercraft Club to be on the boat when the boat is in use. A guest of a member may operate the vessel so long as they are 25 years old or older and have a state-issued Boater Education Card.
Does a member need to be on the boat?
Yes. We require a named member of the Pure Watercraft Club to be on the boat when the boat is in use.
Are there any excluded dates?
No. Pure Watercraft Club members have equal access to all available boating sessions, including weekends and holidays.
Can I get a boat on short notice?
Yes. Log in to the Pure Watercraft Club website; if a boat is available, you may reserve it. Conversely, if you must cancel your or reschedule your reservation, we ask that you do so at least 24 hours before the reserved time so others have a chance to reserve.
Can I use a boat for an overnight outing?
Unfortunately, no. We require members to return boats to their home mooring location following the last boating session each day so we can inspect, recharge, and prepare the vessels for the next day's users.
Can another person use my membership?
No. To ensure that our boats are equally available to all paying members, we require a named member to be present on each boating outing.
Can my spouse or family member use my membership?
No. To ensure that our boats are equally available to all paying members, we require a named member to be present on each boating outing.

What if I leave for military duty?
Pure Watercraft Club understands the unpredictable life of our military. If the military orders you for out of town duty for more than 60 days, we will pause the automatic collection of your monthly dues and place membership on hold until you return.
What if I want to quit my membership?
You may quit the club at any time. However, if you quit and choose to rejoin, you will be required to repay the initiation fee.
Can I sell or transfer my membership?
No. You may not sell or transfer your membership to another individual or entity.
